SamsungSamsung and online gambling company Betfair have made a deal that will change the way online gamblers go about their activities. The merger will enable a gambling function on all internet-connected HDTV’s.

This comes at a time when the gambling industry is moving towards being almost completely online. The online gambling industry is exploding, especially now that World Cup has started. Television gambling is coming to the industry just in time for the World Cup event.

Both Betfair and Samsung have run numerous tests to ensure that television gambling was ready to be put on the market. The companies promise that the product is ready to use and that it will change the way that people choose to gamble.

Television gambling is a new and innovative method and although there is no way to guess at how it will be received by the public, at a time when convenience is on the top of peoples’ lists, it will likely take off. Televised gambling is currently geared towards sports betting because of the way that sporting events are aired.

35 percent of televisions in the UK are expected to be internet-ready by the end of 2010. Samsung also has plans to bring televised gambling to North America in the near future. Once the new program begins, Samsung and Betfair will have a better idea of how it catches on.
