Poll Shows Surprising Statistics for Online Gambling in the US

A recent poll done by a university in the US has shown that more than half of the people questioned are against online gambling. The study included people of all races, ages and both genders in order to gauge the success of their results. Multiple questions were asked regarding sports betting, land-based casinos and online casinos.

A total of 1001 people were questioned individually, with each person being asked several random questions out of all the ones they had. 200 people were questioned about online gambling and only 21 percent of them were in favor of online gambling.

Another factor that impacted results was political views. Liberals were slightly more inclined to be in favor of online casinos while conservatives were slightly more inclined to be opposed.

The sports betting results were the most closely matched with 39 percent saying the government should allow it and 54 percent saying it was a bad idea. Of those questioned, men were split down the middle with their beliefs while women tended to say they disagree with legalized sports betting.

The poll showed some surprising results as the US is known to have a massive market for online gambling. Operators maintain their stance that online gambling should be legalized in the US and that the government and economy will benefit greatly.
