Playtech Readies Itself for the US Market

Playtech is one of the leading software providers in the world. Like all the other gaming software companies, they have been waiting patiently for the US to regulate online gambling. This will open up a whole new market of online casino operators who will need a software company to develop games for them.

So far, Playtech hasn’t accepted US players so any of the casino operators that use Playtech software have been unable to as well. But now that it appears as though it is only a matter of time before the US joins the online gambling industry, Playtech wants to make its name known.

The recent partnering with Scientific Games will help boost their gambling profile in the US. It sure hasn’t hurt because their stock rose by 11 percent the same day that they made the announcement with Scientific Games.

Playtech has scored major points with this acquisition and once online casino operators are licensed and become regulated in the US, they will begin to make deals and hopefully get some contracts. As with anything, being the first company do to something sets major precedent and draws a lot of attention. If they (Playtech and Scientific Games) are successful in combining land-based gambling via national lotteries with online gambling, it will be enough advertisement to ensure Playtech’s victory in the US.
