Overthrowing the Anti-Online Gambling Law
Submitted by Beth on Fri, 2009-12-11 at 21:27
United States Congress is preparing to overturn the current anti-online gambling laws that are in effect in the United States. A hearing was held in which online security and consumer safety experts were called in to voice their opinions.
One expert stated that simply regulating online gambling is the best way to protect consumers from fraud. As well, certain technology has been developed specifically to protect online consumers and is being used by other countries that currently regulate online gambling. In fact, allowing operators to become licensed makes it easier for the government to keep an eye on their practices. It is very difficult for the US government to place rules and regulations on online gambling that is occurring in other countries.
There was also the argument that online gambling allows for better ways to help those with gambling addictions. All online activity is closely monitored which makes it easier for online casino operators to follow a player’s patterns than it does for land-based casino operators.
In addition to those arguments, many are saying that it is unfair for the US government to control what adults do in their leisure time. The fact that some people will develop gambling addictions is not reason enough to prevent them from being able to gamble online. There are plenty of alcoholics and it would be considered a very drastic solution if the government made owning a bar illegal. Those who enjoy online gambling in moderation should be free to gamble as often as they like, it is a matter of people having the right to their own autonomy.
Roulette VS. Craps
Submitted by Evan on Fri, 2009-12-11 at 21:26
There are many games available for players to play at online casinos and regular land based casinos as well. There are so many different games to choose from that they are hard to compare and there are other games that are very similar. There games that are more popular than others and those that are played by new comers and old timers. But there are also those games that stick out versus the rest and two of those games are the game of Roulette and the game of Craps.
These two games have been around in the casino and online casino as staples for quite some time now. The online casinos find these games quite popular especially to North American players. Players in Europe also enjoy these games but they really have a strong presence in North America and are very popular throughout the world to be honest.
There is a big difference between the two games yet sometimes the games are compared as they are both a game of great chance, luck and of course the possibility to make quite a bit of profit if the right wager is made at the right time!
In roulette players bet on numbers and colours and if the ball that is spun lands on the number or colour that the player has wagered on then the player is a winner and receives winnings in multiples of their bets. In Craps players bet on numbers and various positions as well as the shooter which is the person throwing the dice at the time. Both games are very exciting and fun to play!
Ladbrokes Launches New Multiplayer Slots
Submitted by Beth on Fri, 2009-12-11 at 21:25
Ladbrokes has just launched a brand new online slots game: Multiplayer Wheel of Wealth! Available only in the casino’s downloadable game suite, this innovative new software allows up to five players to take part in one slots game.
In Multiplayer Wheel of Wealth, each player has their own individual slots game, which sits at the bottom of the screen. Above it is the Wheel of Wealth, surrounded by miniature versions of every other players’ game, so each participant can see what everyone else is up to.
The bonus round is the part of Wheel of Wealth that actually brings everyone together in a Multiplayer setting. During this round, which is triggered randomly, players each pick a spot on the wheel. The wheel is then divided up into sections for different multipliers. After the wheel is spun, the player earns bonus cash based on the multiplier that their chosen spots lines up with.
One of the greatest parts about Multiplayer Wheel of Wealth online slots is that players can speak to each other while playing. There is a chat application placed to the right of each individual player’s screen, greatly enhancing the multiplayer aspect of the game.
As an added bonuses, Ladbrokes is also running an exclusive promotion that runs until December 28th. From now, until the end of the month, Ladbrokes will be giving away 500 free spins on this popular new game every week!

Canadian Casino Receives $30 Million Upgrade
Submitted by Gary on Fri, 2009-12-11 at 21:24
Vancouver’s River Rock Casino Resort has undergone some extensive changes ($30 million worth) to make the gambling experience of its players much more convenient. The Starwalk, a new enclosed walkway, allows customers to travel directly from Canada Line’s Bridgeport Station to the casino’s third floor.
After making their trek across the Starwalk, visitors must take another interesting trip down a curved escalator – the first of its kind in Canada. They are then dropped off on the gaming floor, amidst the clamor and excitement of slot machines and blackjack tables.
Designed by Mitsubishi, the escalator took seven months to install. Spanning two floors, it is a symbol of the casino’s movement into the modern era of gambling. Seen often in Macau, River Rock believed that it would set itself apart from the rest of North America’s casino with the installation of the futuristic staircase.
The expansion has unsurprisingly caused the casino to see an increase in players. Since the Starwalk and escalator were installed in August, 15 000 more players made their way to River Rock Casino Resort. The casino has also reported that the majority of its visitors now opt for the Canada Line, rather than driving.
“We’ve seen a 15% increase in guests since the Canada Line opened”, said spokesperson Howard Blank. “There’s a lot of older folks who didn’t want to drive here. And there’s also a lot of the younger crowd coming here via the Canada Line so they can drink and not have to drive”.
Online Casinos and Social Media
Submitted by Evan on Fri, 2009-12-11 at 21:20
Social media is important to businesses, especially those that exist completely online, such as online casinos. Social networking is the quickest way to generate buzz about a business. Word of mouth has long been known as a great way of acquiring new business but with so many different social networking websites available, there is opportunity to access an exceptionally large clientele.
Social networking is not just great for businesses. Online casino players are looking to compare games, chat about wins and losses and even discuss gaming tactics in the hopes of increasing their odds of winning. While online casinos do have chat rooms, players are asking for a more sophisticated system. As online casinos increase in popularity in both Canada and the US, those who cater to both countries are looking to appease players.
More and more communication is done online and it is up to online casino operators to ensure that players get the most realistic experience as possible. This means that online casinos should have all of the bells and whistles that land-based casinos have including; flashing lights, lots of ringing machines and the option to socialize with many different people.
If all goes well, online casinos will offer the option to create exclusive groups where selected players can chat privately to one another, as well as interest-based groups or communities for players who enjoy the same types of games. Online casinos are also looking to join social media networks such as facebook and twitter, giving players the option of chatting or joining related groups even when they are not gambling.
