Online Gambling Still Proves to be the Popular Choice

The current enforcement of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) has not stopped casino players in the US from gambling online. In fact, the online casino industry is booming more than ever.

A recent media study group found that US casino players are switching from land-based casinos to online casinos in droves. While the exact reasons are unknown, one can speculate that land-based casinos are unable to compete with everything that online casinos have to offer. They are easy-to-use and convenient since the casino games can be played from anywhere; all that is needed is a computer and an internet connection.

Land-based casinos are experiencing the same loss in revenue as blockbuster and other video rental companies. Many people in the US are using Netflix, a delivery system in which you can pay for your rentals online and they will be sent right to your door. People never seem to have enough time and anything that will save a trip, whether it’s to a local video store or to a land-based casino, is sure to be popular.

If the majority of US casino players want the option of gambling online, it is likely that the UIGEA will be overturned. It will be hard for those against legalized online gambling to prove their point against a majority because the US government cannot just ignore their desires.
