Online Casinos Retaliate Against Visa and MasterCard

Shortly after news was released that MasterCard was rejecting any payments to an online casino account, operators are fighting back. There are several other forms of payment that players from the US can use in place of credit cards such as an eWallet or money transfers but credit cards are the fastest and most convenient.

Online casino operators’ frustration with credit card companies is understandable but blocking all future transactions would be detrimental to the online casino industry. They would lose a significant amount of revenue, all in an effort to prove a point.

So where does that leave US players who prefer using credit cards to deposit money into their online casino accounts? Until the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) is either confirmed or thrown out (a decision will be made by June 1st, 2010), there really isn’t much choice for players. If online casino operators decide to ban all credit card payments then they will have to find another method of payment.

Online casino players in the US are left to simply wait and hope that the UIGEA will not go through; in that case they will have more options in terms of payment, as well as casino choice. In the meantime, players can contact their governors and other state leaders with their opinions and concerns.
