Online Casinos Making Deals with the State of California

In an attempt to introduce regulated online gambling in the state of California, online casino operators are offering the state hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. Local casino operators looking to obtain a license at home are frustrated because of the revenue that is going into the pockets of international operators when it could be staying within the state.

Operators argue that the gambling industry is a massive one and could potentially benefit the state’s economy significantly. Currently, the state of California has been unable to recover from the economic downfall as jobs are still not being recovered.

In an effort to fix this, online casino operators are proposing to partner up with the state and share the hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue that they are presently missing out on. Those operators that are in talks with the state understand that online gambling remains a taboo subject in the US and are only proposing that they legalize online poker.

Not only will it help California’s economy, but casino operators are suggesting that regulated online casinos will help protect Californians from fraud and identity theft as it will be easier to monitor their gambling. The state is interested in the proposed plans but is wary of stepping on any toes in terms of national laws against online gambling as well as native tribes’ rights to online gaming.

It is estimated that approximately one million people in California are gambling online through offshore casinos.
