Nevada Warns Casino Operators to Follow the Rules

Legislators in Nevada are warning land-based casino operators not to delve into online operations just yet. The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has cautioned the industry that there will still be strict consequences for those that do, as well as the promise that they will never operate legally in the US.

The NGCB has heard rumours that several land-based casinos are in the talks with online casino operators about coming to some type of working agreement. Casino operators are better off to wait until legislation changes rather than jump the gun and make agreements regarding online gambling before the law allows it.

All land-based casino operators are anxious to get in on the gambling market, even before they are allowed to do so legally. This is because the US gambling market is so massive that operators are trying to be among the first to offer online gambling options to US citizens.

The NGCB is not trying to stop operators from making money off the US gambling market; they are simply trying to ensure that things progress in the proper order: legislation being passed first, then online casino operators opening their doors to US citizens.

The NGCB is not, however, giving any clues to when the decision will be made regarding legalized online gambling in the state of Nevada. They are simply asking US residents and casino operators to wait.
