Nevada Hesitates on Online Gambling Decision

The state of Nevada, which seemed to be moving towards offering online gambling through already-established land based casinos, has decided to hold off on proceedings. The news is both frustrating and disheartening for eager online casino operators and online gamblers in the US.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board is advising those with online gambling licenses to hold off on any actions just yet. The reason is that agreements between licensees and those gambling sites that are not licenses directly violate the Nevada Gaming Control Act.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board wants to thoroughly review all agreements before allowing operators to proceed. This is because they want to maintain some control over the online gambling industry in order to allow for proper safety precautions. Online gambling is regarded as a highly addictive pastime because of how easy it is to log on and begin playing, as well as the convenience factor.

The Nevada state government is promising to conduct their investigation quickly so that any legitimate online gambling agreements can continue. Both operators and online gamblers are being thanked in advance for their patience and cooperation.

As frustrating as it is, Nevada officials are doing the right thing by being careful. And operators are doing their best to be understanding. The fact that Nevada appears to be moving forward with online gambling operations means that the online gambling industry has made a huge step forward.
