Microgaming Plans to Stop Data Mining

Data mining has been a useful tool for online gamblers because it shows previous hands and a full history of their game. This gives players the opportunity to learn from the mistakes they’re making and adjust their playing style accordingly. The problem with this is that strong players are using data mining to take advantage of the weaker ones. If an online casino allows data mining, it cannot restrict some players from using it. It is an all or nothing type of thing.

Microgaming is an online casino software provider that strives for excellence in customer service and promises their customers a fair game. Strong players are being equated to sharks in that they are hunting smaller and therefore weaker players.

Microgaming has vowed to change this trend whether it means completely or partially preventing data mining on all of its sites. If partial removal goes into effect then game histories will be blocked and so-called sharks will not be able to memorize certain players’ styles and use them to defeat the players.

The online gambling industry is committed to fair play and if the ability to use data mining techniques changes a person’s chances of winning, action will definitely be taken against it. Unfortunately, allowing data mining at any level means that some players will abuse their privileges and subsequently cause them to be taken away from everyone.
