888Previously, offshore online gambling operators were worried about the possibility of obtaining a French gambling license under the country’s new, strict laws, but the list of licensed non-French operators seems to be growing. 888 Holdings has just received a French online gambling license, joining other offshore operators like PartyGaming.

888 received a license for its new joint venture with Microgaming, which provides online poker software to French residents. Although Microgaming has refused to apply for a French license, the company will still earn a profit by targeting French residents with 888’s new network.

The joint venture will host both Microgaming and 888 licensees, covering a wide range of operators in the industry. By joining forces, the two companies plan to create a shared pool of customers and resources. This allows for more exciting gameplay for the operation’s customers in addition to giving them access to all of the services and software that both renowned companies have to offer.

The first operator to be launched on the network will be La Société Française des Jeux sur Internet (SFJI). In May, 40 French land-based casino operators came together to create SFJI, as a way to obtain some of the online poker market share. It is likely that the operation will be launched under the brand 200PourcentPoker.
