Full Tilt PokerLast Friday, Full Tilt Poker contacted American online poker players to inform them about the status of their refunds. The site has been slow to make any statements, while Poker Stars has already started issuing refunds to its former players.

This is the first time that American players have heard from Full Tilt Poker since the site’s owners informed them of the shut down on April 15th, 2011. The email to players states that Full Tilt has experienced a wide range of challenged in order to ensure that players would be able to receive their refunds smoothly. Administrators of the website will now focus their efforts to issuing refunds to American poker players.

“We apologize for the delay and the fact that we underestimated the time it would take to work through these issues”, the statement said.

The vague email failed to put players’ minds at ease; however, Full Tilt Poker started the process of returning funds just yesterday. Full Tilt Poker will begin by converting any tournament tickets or tournament dollars to cash and crediting them to each player’s account.

This is the first step towards refunding players their money, but many are growing impatient. Poker Stars has already refunded millions of dollars to players, while FTP users are still waiting for their compensation.
